Rules & Procedures
Yashab Circle is an open agora for agorist exchange: voluntary trade of goods and services in Bitcoin. No login, no sign-up, no platform custody. Anyone can name a circle and post. Trust stays social (friends and friends-of-friends), not bureaucratic. Inspired by early Agora, LocalBitcoins, and Bisq — without becoming a regulated middleman.
This page covers practical rules. For the underlying philosophical framework of this project, see Vision & Method.
0. Many circles, one agora — no accounts
- There is no registration. Publishing does not create a government-readable user database on this site.
- Use the optional circle name field (e.g. Karachi-Services, Berlin-Friends) so groups worldwide share one board without merging trust graphs.
- Filter the floor by circle. Same software, many free associations.
- Search for a circle by name on the floor (e.g. type “Islamabad”) — no account needed.
- Agorism here means: peer-to-peer exchange, self-custody wallets, no mandatory intermediary, no platform trading fee.
1. Invitation system — friends of friends
First circle — your direct friends
- List 10–20 people you trust and have met in person.
- Invite them personally — WhatsApp call or sitting together. Do not only send a link.
- Explain two rules: Bitcoin only, and only people you have already met face-to-face.
- Each member: real name + phone number + a Bitcoin address (or PGP) as ID.
Second circle — friends of friends
- A member may invite someone only if they have met that person face-to-face and will vouch for them.
- Vouching format:
- Limit: each person may invite at most 3–5 people in the first three months. This keeps growth from filling with unknowns.
- The public vouch list on the floor shows who vouched for whom — the trust chain stays visible.
2. Agora-type site — keep it simple
You do not need a full exchange. You need a classifieds board + escrow + reputation.
- Listings: category, price in sats/BTC (and PKR for reference), location.
- No custody: the site never holds Bitcoin. It only holds reputation and escrow coordination.
- Escrow: best is 2-of-3 multisig (buyer, seller, respected elder as arbitrator). Simple option: a trusted third person holds Bitcoin for about one hour until face-to-face handover is done.
- Reputation: after each trade both leave feedback, e.g. “Met at the tea shop, on time, honest.”
3. Procedures for buying and selling
Selling a good or service
- Create a listing (what, price, location, face-to-face only).
- Buyer contacts you; agree on a public place and time.
- Agree on exchange rate from an average of three sources; write it in chat.
- Buyer sends BTC to multisig escrow; you meet; hand over goods; both confirm release; leave a review.
Buying or selling Bitcoin itself (P2P cash ↔ BTC)
- Face-to-face only. No online bank transfers with unknown friends-of-friends in the first months.
- Buyer brings cash; seller shows the transaction on a mempool explorer; wait for 1 confirmation together.
- Show ID once and note it privately. Never trade on behalf of someone else — only for yourself.
4. Friend to friend — wallet to wallet (no exchange)
- Wallets: both use self-custody — Sparrow, BlueWallet, or Muun. Not exchange wallets.
- Address: receiver shares their Bitcoin address or QR.
- Send: sender enters amount and address and broadcasts; keep the fee reasonable.
- TXID: share the transaction ID in chat immediately.
- Confirm: both look up the TXID on mempool.space or in-wallet.
- Confirmations: wait for at least 1 confirmation (3+ for larger amounts). After that the coins are safely in the receiver’s wallet.
- Receipt: note date, names, amount, and TXID.
5. Safety and legal notes
Know the law: In Pakistan, P2P Bitcoin holding is a grey area. Do not operate this as a money-exchange business. Keep it as friends helping friends with goods priced in Bitcoin. Avoid large cash volumes that look like hawala.
- Amount limit: keep single trades under about $200–$300 equivalent at first while trust builds.
- No third-party payments: the person you meet must be the account owner.
- Keep receipts: simple notebook — date, who, what, BTC amount, TXID.
- Security: self-custody wallets only. Teach every friend to write the 12 words on paper.
This site is only a board for trust and listings. No intermediary guarantees a trade. Verify yourself, start small, meet in public.
For a formal policy framework that enables self-custody wallet use in commerce while meeting basic regulatory needs through merchant-level identity recording (rather than wallet KYC), see the Policy Proposal on the Vision page.
Our Digital Village — A Mutual Support Circle
Intention: We are creating a village of people we interact with daily, even if we live in different locations. To avoid consumerism, inflation, and dependency, we will support each other first. This is not a company — it is cooperation. Designed for everyday use with Muun Wallet (Lightning + on-chain).
1. Our wallet: Muun Wallet
Why Muun? It is non-custodial (you own your keys), simple for beginners, and handles both on-chain and Lightning automatically. No need to manage channels.
- Install Muun Wallet from muun.com
- Backup: Write down your 12-word Emergency Code on paper. Never share it.
- Keep only a small, daily-use amount in it.
2. How we pay
- To pay: Open Muun → Send → Scan QR.
- If the person is near you: Ask them to show a QR in Muun (Receive → Lightning).
- If the person is far: Ask for a Lightning Invoice in the group chat. Paste it in Muun and pay. Fee is almost zero.
- Pricing: For now, price in local currency for reference, but pay the equivalent in sats at that moment. Example: “Eggs = $5 worth of sats today.”
3. Rules of our village
- Circle first: Before buying from the market, ask in the group. “Does anyone have eggs? Can anyone fix my solar?”
- Daily check-in: One message a day — “Today I HAVE / Today I NEED.”
- No profit mindset: Sell to each other slightly cheaper than market. We seek barakah, not profit.
- No interest: If we lend, we lend in sats and take back the same sats. No interest. History in Muun is our ledger.
- Monthly meetup: Once a month, meet physically for tea, even if only 3–4 people can make it. Trust needs face-to-face.
4. Important — stay clean & legal
- This circle is for mutual help and gifts. If you run a formal business inside the circle, you are responsible for your own taxes according to your country.
- We do not use this to hide income. We use it to reduce wasteful expenses.
- Never share your Muun Emergency Code with anyone, even inside the circle.
