Functionalism means that God, at different times, creates different values for different things in different minds to keep the mind and the economy running. In theology, this can be explained as follows:

Anas (RA) reported that people said, “O Messenger of Allah! Prices have increased, so set prices for us.” The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) replied, “It is Allah who sets prices, who restricts and increases provision, and I hope that when I meet Allah, none of you will have any claim against me for injustice or wrongdoing.”
